Jan Nemecek emerged in the early '00s as one of the most versatile and prolific electronic producers going. In Serbia, he's been known for many years as a most interesting young electronic music talent, specializing in all varieties of electronic music while dabbling in ambient, IDM and house for the Consistent, Rezonant, Norbu, and many other labels. He spent several years working on ambient music (the albums Disappearance and Through the Planetary Void), as well as various multimedia works. Alternate aliases and collaborations for his releases include Kalope, Brickwall Brigade, J-House and Ben Anderson. Jan's dance floor tracks are funky and playful with a heavy debt to swinging beats and pulsating bass lines - he even covered Mulatu Astatke's epic classic "Yegelle Tezeta" which was heavily mixed in many clubs past 2 years.

His live sets are very different depending on the type of venues he's booked for. As Kalope his sets are more improv-like with lots of different gear and where everything is about perfect mix of complex soundscapes and slow pulsating beats. Brickwall Brigade is a project started in late 2010. with Goran Simonoski, a well known veteran from Belgradeyard Sound System. This project is all about bringing back dubstep to the dancefloor, where it really belongs. They already showed their skills in this years more than successful live set at Exit Festival. His current live involves fusing 2-step garage and IDM-inspired sounds with his ambient background.
